October sees the start of a brand new initiative to encourage Ruddington residents and visitors to patronise our village’s many shops, pubs, cafés, restaurants, takeaways and other retailers – with special offers to showcase the diverse range of products and services available right here on our doorstep.
Incentives to buy locally range from 10% off all stock in some shops, to meal deals, special offers and loyalty bonuses – just by showing your ‘Ruddy Good Loyalty Card’. For the launch of the new scheme, twenty eight village businesses are taking part – and that number is expected to grow as it gathers pace.
October’s full #RUDDYGOODOFFERS list can now be found at RUDDINGTON.info/loyalty showing all Ruddington’s participating businesses and what each is offering this month. It will be updated monthly with traders’ new discounts and deals.
The new card {illustrated above} is FREE to pick up by anyone who shops, drinks, eats or uses services in our village. The scheme is being co-ordinated on behalf of Ruddington Village Centre Partnership (RVCP) by Julie Smith of the Black Cat Café, Soham Patel from Ruddington Post Office and Sally Beards of Phoenix Flowers from where you can collect a Loyalty Card yourself – and also obtain a printed list of the latest offers, should you need one.
Resident Anne Corcoran of Brookside Road commented: “This looks like a really good idea. We need more reasons to shop in the village and giving different incentives that will change each month should certainly help.”
The launch of the Loyalty Scheme and most of its initial promotion have been funded by Ruddington Parish Council. The dedicated Loyalty Card design was done by Ruddington based Wig Wag Creative who have additionally created window stickers {see below} – also based on their acclaimed village gateway signs – for the participating traders to display. Both incorporate a clever QR Code which can simply be scanned with the camera on your smartphone or tablet to take you straight through to our monthly offers page.
Ruddington’s main bus operator, Nottingham City Transport, is also supporting the initiative by working with RUDDINGTON.info to include all the initial loyalty scheme businesses in their 2018/19 ‘Ruddy Good Day Out’ guide booklet, out soon.
RVCP Chair, Mike Ader, said: “The Loyalty Card is the first initiative by the Ruddington Village Centre Partnership and I’m delighted that so many Ruddington businesses have already signed up. I would like to encourage Ruddington residents and visitors to actively support these businesses, by using their loyalty card as often as possible. We will test the scheme for a period of three months up to Christmas. If it proves successful then we hope it will become self-funding to keep it running and promoted indefinitely.”
Mike and Julie were among those present at the official launch of the new card next to one of Ruddington’s “matching” village gateway signs (below):
